Checking Your Shop Links Still Work

KinkCoach · · 3 min read

Most sellers share their shop link in a handful of places: a social bio, a pinned post, an old forum signature, a message template. Over time those links drift. A listing is removed, a shop name changes, a page moves, and the link that once worked now opens an empty page. At KinkCoach we suggest a short check once a month.

Make a list of where your links live

Write down every place you have shared a link to your shop or a listing. Include the obvious ones, like your bios, and the forgotten ones, like replies you saved to send buyers.

Open each one as a stranger would

Use a private browser window so you are not signed in, and tap each link. Check that it opens, that it goes to the right page and that the page looks the way you expect on a phone.

Point links at pages that last

A link to a single listing stops working when that item sells. Where you can, link to your shop or a section of it instead, so the link stays useful for months.

Fix the ones that matter most first

If several links are out of date, start with the place most buyers find you. One working link in the right spot is worth more than ten in places nobody visits.

Keep the list for next time

Save your list somewhere easy to find. Next month the check takes a few minutes, and buyers never meet a dead end on their way to you.
