Content Batching: Shoot Once, Post for Weeks

If you are shooting something most days, that is why you are tired. Not the amount of content, the number of times you have to get ready, decide, set up, shoot, edit and post. Each of those has a fixed cost and you are paying it daily.

Plan before you point a camera

An hour of planning saves a day of shooting. Decide the sets, the outfits, the angles and roughly what each one is for before you start. Shooting without a plan produces a lot of near identical material and nothing that fills the gaps in your schedule. Planning also stops the thing where you finish a session and realise you have no vertical shots.

One session, several sets

Change one variable and you have a new set. Different outfit, different room, different lighting. Three or four changes in one session gives you three or four weeks of distinct posting. The setup cost is paid once instead of four times, and the difference in your week is large.

File it so you can find it

Content you cannot find is content you do not have. A folder structure by date and set, consistent naming, and a note of what has been posted where. This sounds fussy right up until you are hunting for a clip from March at eleven at night. This is the exact admin drain described in the hidden cost of doing everything manually.

Keep a buffer and defend it

The point of batching is not efficiency, it is the buffer. Two weeks of ready content means illness, a bad week or a shoot falling through does not mean vanishing from your platforms. Disappearing for ten days costs subscribers, and the buffer is what stops it. Treat the buffer as untouchable, not as content you post early when you feel keen.

Post from the buffer, on a schedule

Once you have material, posting should be mechanical. A fixed schedule, queued in advance, so the daily decision disappears entirely. That decision, made fresh every day, is a surprising amount of the mental load, and removing it is most of what people mean when they say a system helped. There is more on that in avoiding burnout.

Block one four hour session this week with three outfit changes planned in advance. Count how many usable posts come out of it, and compare that against your last four days of shooting as you go.
