Grouping Listings into Clear Sections
As a shop grows, a single long list of items becomes hard to browse. A buyer looking for one particular thing does not want to scroll past everything else to find it. Grouping your listings into a few clear sections makes the whole shop feel tidier and helps people reach what they want quickly.
Think like a buyer
Group items the way a buyer would search for them, not the way you happen to store them. Most people shop by type of item first, so sections such as underwear, footwear, photos and custom requests usually work better than sections based on when you listed something.
Keep the number small
Four to eight sections is plenty for most shops. Too many and each one looks empty. Too few and they become long lists again. If a section only ever holds one item, fold it into a neighbour.
Use plain names
Short, obvious section names are easiest to scan. A buyer should know what is inside without clicking. Clever names can be fun, but they make people guess, and guessing slows them down.
Put your best sellers first
Order sections so the most popular ones appear near the top. That is where most buyers look, and it means a newcomer sees your strongest work straight away.
Review now and then
Every few months, look at which sections people actually visit and buy from. Merge the quiet ones, split any that have grown too large, and move items that have ended up in the wrong place. A little tidying keeps the shop easy to use as it grows.
