Looking at Your Shop on a Phone

KinkCoach · · 3 min read

Many sellers build and edit their shop on a laptop, then rarely look at it any other way. Yet most buyers will find you on a phone, often late in the evening and with only a few minutes to spare. At KinkCoach we suggest a short habit: once a month, look at your own shop on a phone, exactly as a buyer would.

Open it the way a buyer does

Use your phone's browser rather than the seller view, and if you can, open it without being signed in. Start from your shop link, the same one you share elsewhere, and scroll as if you had never seen it before.

Check your first photo

On a small screen the first photo of each listing does most of the work. If it is dark, busy or cropped awkwardly, a buyer will scroll straight past. Bright, simple images hold up best at that size.

Read your titles at a glance

Long titles are often cut short on a phone. Make sure the words that matter most come first, so a buyer still understands what the item is when only half the title shows.

Try to buy something

Tap through to a listing and go as far as the checkout without paying. If anything is confusing, slow or hard to tap, note it down. A buyer who gets stuck rarely tries again.

Fix one thing at a time

You do not need to change everything at once. Pick the one problem that would put a buyer off fastest, fix it, and check again next month.
