Buyers forget your listing within a day. They remember the parcel. A cheap bag with a leaking seal undoes a month of careful presentation, and it is the single easiest thing to get right.

Discretion is the baseline, not a feature

Plain outer packaging, no branding, no hint of contents, a return address that does not identify you. This is not something to advertise as premium, it is the minimum. Buyers are usually sharing a home with someone. A parcel that causes a conversation at the front door is a customer you will never see again, and possibly a complaint you cannot answer. Seal properly or do not bother

For worn items, the seal is the product. Vacuum sealing or a proper airtight bag preserves the thing the buyer actually paid for. Postage class is a promise

Pick a class you can genuinely maintain on a bad week and state that. Under promising and beating it is free goodwill. Over promising and missing is a refund request.

Tracking protects you, not them

Buyers rarely care about tracking. You should, because it is the only evidence that exists when someone claims a parcel never arrived. For anything above a modest value, tracked is not optional. It is the cost of being able to defend a chargeback, and it is cheaper than losing one.

Batch it

Posting one parcel a day is a tax on your week. Two fixed posting days, everything prepared in a batch, labels printed together, one trip. The time saved is real and the consistency is what makes the promise in your listing keepable. That habit belongs in the same category as everything in reclaiming your time.

Send yourself a parcel. Post it exactly as a buyer would receive it and open it at the door like they would. Whatever makes you wince is the thing to fix this week.
